Handbook

The HORIZON30 Handbook is a comprehensive and practice-oriented resource developed within the Erasmus+ framework to support young people in strengthening their employability, entrepreneurial mindset, and active participation in democratic and labour-market processes across Europe. Designed for young people, youth workers, educators, policymakers, and organisations working in the youth sector, the Handbook bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life application by providing accessible tools, methodologies, and insights. It approaches employability not only as access to jobs but as a broader process that includes skills development, adaptability, social inclusion, and active citizenship. At the same time, it addresses key challenges such as youth unemployment, unequal access to opportunities, and the fast-changing nature of the labour market, while offering practical solutions through non-formal education methods.
The Handbook integrates a wide range of approaches, including workshops, simulations, debates, role-playing activities, case studies, and guided exercises that reflect the experiences and outcomes of the HORIZON30 mobility and project activities. These tools are designed to be flexible and adaptable to different contexts, enabling stakeholders to implement engaging and inclusive learning processes. Through its content, the Handbook supports the development of essential competences such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. It also encourages participants to move from idea generation to action, empowering them to design initiatives that respond to real community needs while promoting both economic sustainability and social impact.
A strong emphasis is placed on inclusion and equal opportunities, ensuring that young people with fewer opportunities are actively supported through accessible methodologies, safe learning environments, and targeted engagement strategies. The Handbook promotes meaningful youth participation by fostering dialogue between young people and decision-makers, particularly in the field of employment policies, ensuring that youth voices are heard and integrated into decision-making processes. Fully aligned with the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027 and particularly Youth Goal 7: Quality Employment for All, the HORIZON30 Handbook serves as both a pedagogical and strategic tool. Ultimately, it equips young people and stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the labour market, engage in democratic life, and contribute to building a more inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented Europe.
